The PA Show - been and gone!
Last week I wrote to you from my stand at The PA Show in London. Today I am writing to you from the kitchen table in the motel we are staying at in Hollywood Florida.
I can't quite believe that The PA Show is over - so much work went into the preparation. 4 sessions - did you attend one? All the promotions etc.
The show wrapped up on Thursday evening and on Sunday we flew to Florida where 2 of our kids live.
If you are new to the newsletter, you will note that the first part is always a bit of personal news - what I am up to, what our kids are up to and then the rest is given over to tips and tricks and links to learning sources.
Here are a few photos from The PA Show.
Follow Up
For those of you who run your own VA or PA Business you will know that following up with connections is super important and following up in a timely manner is also important. For those of you working in an organisation, you will still need to follow up with connections, clients, appointments etc.
I wrote to all the lovely assistants whose badges we scanned at the show and to you I wish to say another welcome π
Then today I will be following up with all the people who asked to chat with me about training for themselves or their organisation. Tomorrow I will be sending out the slides to those who requested them.
It's not just a holiday!
Those of you who have been with me for a while will know that David and I work whilst here in Florida. Our children and grandchildren are at work and school so we take the opportunity to catch up on things. The afternoons are for family - it is a great balance and yes, we do manage to sit in the sunshine and do some shopping too π€£
Weekly Excel Tip
Using Flash Fill for Data Entry
Flash Fill is a handy feature in Excel that automatically fills in values based on patterns it detects in your data.
This can save you a lot of time when entering repetitive data. For example, if you have a column of full names and you want to split them into first and last names, you can start typing the first name in the adjacent column and Excel will automatically fill in the rest. To use Flash Fill, start typing the desired values and when Excel detects the pattern, press "Enter" to accept the suggestions. You can also go to the "Data" tab and click on "Flash Fill" to apply it manually
